Newsletter

I receive a lot of newsletters from different organisations ranging from the Musicians' Union to heritage and model railways with a smattering of other hobbies, interests and organisations I volunteer for.
The latest newsletter from IGHT has everything. Information, pictures, what it's like to be a volunteer. Keith's words about suddenly being seen as some kind of dark force really resonated with me as a former member of the MU's NEC, also a voluntary position at the head of an organisation that exists for the benefit of its members.
The newsletter is superb. Thank you

Your comments are appreciated Nygel but it is important that we listen to as many members as possible. Feedback from other members for the ‘updated’ newsletter is not as positive as your review. As such volunteer involvement with the newsletter has now ended and production will return to IGHT staff beginning with the June newsletter.

It would be good if you could support this with some data. What were the objections? People had complained about the previous lack of transparency/communication; does the latest newsletter not address those concerns? Can you supply numerical support for your statement?

Feedback was relayed to IGHT staff by members. Comments included the following.

-Newsletter too long.
-Newsletter more of a bulletin now rather than a newsletter.
-Newsletter is just a sort of replica of the memos.
-Unsure of the purpose of the newsletter since it has changed?
-The IGHT newsletter offends me.

It should be noted that it was the volunteer’s decision to end involvement in the production of the newsletter based on feedback received.

Seems a real shame.
